OpenItem’s SOS Panic feature offers residents an instant way to alert estate security during emergencies by simply tapping a prominent red panic button or a medical icon within the app. Once activated, the app shares the user’s GPS location—accurate or approximate—and automatically begins recording background audio to capture situational context. This alert is sent directly to the estate’s control room or security personnel, enabling rapid response. Designed for speed, discretion, and reliability, the feature enhances personal safety within gated communities by turning any smartphone into a powerful emergency beacon.

Medical details, the moment a panic is raised
A responder attending an SOS can see the resident's Medical ID — blood type, allergies, chronic conditions, medical aid and next of kin — captured in their Openitem profile.
